Who we serve and how to apply

The Shield Institute’s Pure Vision Arts (PVA) studio and exhibition space is for adults with autism and other developmental disabilities 21 years of age and over.

We provide studio space, art materials and art exhibition opportunities  for a growing number of beginning, emerging and established artists.

People Interested in Art who are enrolled in The Shield Institute Day Habilitation program in Bayside,  Queens, have the option of attending the Pure Vision Arts studio as a part of their service plan.

Day Habilitation funding to attend the Pure Vision Arts studio
is now available to individuals who have Medicaid waiver service.

Fee for Service Opportunities
PVA offers art studio experiences for individuals at a rate of 50.00 per hour. In addition to studio space, we also provide art materials, exhibition opportunities and individualized support.

Please note that PVA does not provide transportation services.

Group Contracts
Organizations interested in a small group of three to eight participants during available time periods may do so under contract with Pure Vision Arts.
