Pure Vision Arts studio and Expressive Art Program’s Dr. Pamala Rogers is an artist, an arts educator and a licensed psychoanalyst who is a foremost authority on supporting the creative process among people with neurodevelopmental challenges. Bryant Yarborough, Program Coordinator
Bryant Yarborough has a background in fine arts, illustration, graphic design and printmaking. He began his career at The Shield Institute in 2005 as a Day Habilitation Specialist. In 2005, he was promoted to Program Coordinator of Pure Vision Arts and now works closely with the artists. Yarborough also produces PVA’s graphics for the studio’s public relations and special events. email@example.com
Prapti Sapkota, Day Habilitation Specialist
Prapti Sapkota has worked with people with autism and other developmental disabilities since 2013. She began her career as a Group Leader in the Brooklyn and Long Island City Catholic Charities Operation F.U.N. where she provided classroom and recreational activities that included art, music and field trips to local parks and museums. In addition, she worked as a Habilitation Assistant at the Long Island City Day Habilitation Program providing activities focusing on the goals of independence, individualization, community inclusion and productivity for attendees. Prapti began working as Day Habilitation Specialist at Pure Vision arts in July, 2015. She is working closely with the artists to support them in achieving their personal goals. Prapti is herself a fine artist, with a lifetime interest in the visual arts.
Natu Perle-Henderson, Day Habilitation Aide
Natu Perle-Henderson began working with artists with developmental disabilities in 2007 at Healing Arts Initiative (HAI). As Studio Assistant he instructed the artists in the disciplines of art framing, photography, and computer technology which included class instruction of social media and advanced techniques in Photoshop. The program also consisted of trips to arts and cultural events in the city, along with monthly visits to the Museum of Modern Art, and other galleries. Natu began working at Pure Vision Arts in June of 2016. His past experience at HAI has served him well in supporting Pure Vision Arts’ artists, and assisting them in experiencing productive and enjoyable days in the studio. In his spare time, Natu writes short stories on science fiction and fantasy.
Penelope Anderson, Administrative Assistant
Penelope Anderson has worked with non-profit organizations for over 20 years in the areas of development, office and event management and as an interior design consultant and project manager. In 2005 she joined The Shield as a Development Associate and in 2009 became Administrative Assistant for Pure Vision Arts. A couture and children’s clothing designer, she has volunteered with NGOs in India giving textile workshops to women and as a business consultant. As well as providing administrative assistance for the studio, Penelope works with PVA artists on the design and production of boutique items featuring their art. firstname.lastname@example.org
